WUSR is a great way for your business to reach thousands of possible clients, without having to pay the enormous cost of other larger commercial stations. Our broadcast radius encompasses everything from Scranton to Wilkes-Barre, and everything in between. We have the potential of reaching 30,000 listeners at any one time, similar to the larger commercial stations. But there is a difference. Because WUSR is a non-commercial station we are not permitted by current FCC guidelines to sell commercial advertising. We are permitted, however, to sell underwriting at a fraction of the cost of those commercial stations. So what is the difference between underwriting and regular commercial advertising?
Underwriting differs from commercial advertising in four simple ways, all having to do in the way in which the message is said on the air. In underwriting, you can not:
- make a call to action,
- promote a product,
- list prices, or
- make comparative statements.
Other than that, underwriting is the same as standard commercial advertising.
Since WUSR is only permitted to use underwriting, we can pass additional savings on to you. The more spots you purchase, the lower the cost is to you. WUSR offers you a unique opportunity to focus your message to a particular demographic group.
Unlike commercial radio stations that only play one kind of music and are only listened to by one type of listener, WUSR offers many different varieties of music. This means that your message will reach the exact kind of listener you want. If you want to reach a young audience, we offer everything from Alternative to Metal to Urban. Want a more sophisticated audience? We also offer Jazz, Blues, and Classical music, as well as a wide variety of specialty programming. Whatever your needs are, WUSR can help you realize them.
